I didn't expect this book to include story from "Outlawed #1" because let's face it, modern comics don't usually follow a lot of continuity. That's something I've found I like about Vita Ayala, continuity matters. This is a really good story. In fact, I feel it's too good to be relegated to a two-issue tie-in to an already low-key event (Iron Man 2020 six-issue limited series). I enjoyed this issue and I'm looking forward to the next issue. If I simply wrote, "Batman versus Deathstroke happens in this issue" that should be enough for you to run to the comic book store and grab this book. Fortunately, there's more. We had Catwoman explain what happened in the room with The Designer between her, Penguin, and the Riddler, but Joker went in after them, so we didn't get his story. Until now. Birds of Prey (2020) #1

I'm really shocked at how low some people are rating this book. "But Why Tho"? Way to sound "woke", ya jabronie. The why is easy, because we were left dissatisfied by the Birds of Prey movie, however many times the title was re-written. This book told an actual story. Every character had their own voice. Every character was written in-character. The story was fun, no character took the lead, there was some serious threat and you really felt someone could have died (someone important), there was a good chunk of humor. Hell, Azzarello even played with the onomatopoeias toward the end (it's why Harley said, "goose"). I guess some bored people who want to shake things up for their boring website can say that this wasn't a good comic or that it wasn't necessary. But why, tho? You can check out my less-than-boring review for this issue on YouTube at https://youtu.be/Tyz6rO9XVXg where I'll be honest and not try to give a "shocking" review just to sound edgy. |

Really amazing, and amazingly sad, story. In other news, water is wet. Yeah, that's how obvious it was that this was going to be a heartbreaking story. This is issue #3 of 3. DCeased: Hope at World's End #1 is also available digitally, today. Also really good. Ravencroft #4

This issue didn't feel as long as the previous issues, that said, there was just as much action. After the two false starts of The Punisher, will the next issue actually show Frank letting loose in Ravencroft? I feel like this is the closest we're going to get to Lovecraftian comics from Marvel, which is somewhat disappointing because this title comes so close to promising a Chthulu-style story. The villains are a little campy but I haven't seen Taskmaster written so close to form as he's written in this book since his creation. Lots of action in this issue. Captain Marvel vs. Star and then the two team-up against The Black Order. Then, Black Swan's plan-within-a-plan takes center stage. You will not get bored reading this comic! The other issues of this five-issue limited series were good; some were okay. This issue was fantastic! I've been enjoying looking at the psychology of Ripley, who hates Carol Danvers while still emulating her, subconciously. I'm genuinely curious how her trust and confidence issues are going to play into the future of her character. More than anything, the next issue promises to be a great story that leads us into the next Infinity Stones event.
