I'm feeling safe in saying, even with one issue to go, this is the best miniseries of 2017. The story is fantastic and the visuals incredible. Both heroes compliment each other, while the villains enhance the evil of the other. I will be purchasing this when it's collected, and if it's not released as a hardcover it would be a crime. Overall, a good read! If you're following the tale, I'd say to keep at it! The writing is memorable, and the art is great fun to study. I'm excited for more renditions of The Batman Who Laughs, and so horror-Esque stories are my jam. I only wish this issue was as brutal as its last. As penultimate issues go, this one isn't bad at all, but neither is it an unalloyed triumph. How much you'll enjoy it depends very much on how easily you can take Batman recovering from his fatal knife wound and how you feel about the issue's central revelation about The Stag. For me, there's enough here to keep me reading and Rossmo's art on occasion taps a wonderfully twisted and gothic vein. The series continues to ask interesting questions about the two main characters. Here's hoping we get some satisfying answers in next month's finale. Read Full Review

Someof my fellow Shadow fans have commented in the negative regarding the artwork,but I find it stylish in the same manner as the much-revered Mike Kaluta Shadowof the 1970s. Not that Rossmo is emulating Kaluta, but I think both have astyle that works. Where Rossmo fails is not in his rendering style, but in hisdepiction of The Shadow. It seems to Rossmo, The Shadow is simply a guy in hatand long cloak; a common super-hero. He fails to add and maintain the layer ofmystery that has captivated Shadow fans for decades.
