The Memory Collectors #1 |

Because the art focuses so much on the mood of the story, it lacks a little bit when it comes to the storytelling. You don't get quite as much information as you typically expect in sequential art. Menton3 gets creative with the narration, though, so the story makes perfect sense. As I've said, the story isn't typical. I could even see how it might frustrate the typical comic reader in some ways. In my opinion, though, it is usually the stories that dare to work outside what is expected that make an impression. I definitely recommend picking up this book and checking it out! You won't be disappointed! |

Overall, this was a fun story, there was lots of action and lots of crazy stuff going on. It was definitely an entertaining read. There were a few shortcomings in the execution, but it's still worth picking up. |

Overall I didn't care for this issue, but if you've been reading this series and you like it so far, I'd say it's worth checking out. If you haven't been reading the series, I definitely wouldn't recommend starting with this issue. |

Edgar Allan Poe's The Fall of the House of Usher #2 |

It's very possible that this story just doesn't translate well into this format or that the original story is equally vague. I like the story itself and I think there was a lot of potential here but overall I was kind of disappointed in the execution. The story feltrushed and I think it would havebeenbetter had it not been crammed into 2 issues. I wouldn't say that you shouldn't bother to read it. There are definitely things about it that I liked. I'd recommend reading the original story before checking it out. It was also a little bit hard for me to pick back up in the middle without having a summary of issue #1 to remind me what was going on. Probably best to read the issues back to back. |

This book really is the epitome of storytelling and should be held up as an en example for all those who work in comics to aspire to. I cannot recommend this book enough. |

Amala's Blade #2 |

The art seemed to drop off a little bit in this issue, too. I'm not sure why, butit didn't seem to catch my eye as much as it did in the last issue. It wasn't a big difference. The art still did a good job of telling the story and I enjoy Dialynasdistinct style. Overall, this story wasn't bad, but it was a bit of a let down after the last issue. I recommend picking it up if you've liked the series so far. |

I enjoyed the dialogue quite a bit. There was a lot of it, but none of the words were wasted. I, personally, don't mind a book that's heavy on dialogue, as long as it's well done. That being said, it means that this is definitely not a quick read. Between the dialogue and all of the artistic detail it takes a while to get through. I definitely thought that it was worth the time, though. Overall, I thought this was a great story! |

I've been hearing about this story for a while now and I'm glad that I finally got the chance to read it. I'm looking forward to watching the characters develop and seeing where the cancer storyline goes. This was a good read and I expect that this series will only get better as time goes on. Definitely recommend picking this one up. |

Half Past Danger #1 |

This isn't the type of story that I would normally pick up, but it's definitely got its charms and I think it would be very well received by its intended audience. Even though it isn't something I would typically choose for myself, I'm curious to see what happens next and would keep reading the series. Overall, Ienjoyed it and would recommend giving it a try. |

Edgar Allan Poe's The Fall of the House of Usher #1 |

I thought that the art was pretty solid, however. Corbin definately has a distinct style that really suited the story. It isn't necessarily my favorite style, but it worked for the book and did a good job of telling the story. There were some things about this comic that really bothered me, but there were also some things I liked. I wouldn't recommend it to everyone, but I have no doubt that, with the right audience, this story would go over pretty well. |

Danger Girl: Trinity #1 |

The only thing that really bothered me, as far as storytelling goes, was that there wasn't much of an ending. I know that it's the first issue and there will be an ending at some point, but it would have been nice to see some kind of resolution. I felt like I was in the same spot when the story ended as I was when it started. This is definately a quality comic, though. I reccomend checking it out! |

I had a really hard time getting into this story. There was nothing special enough about it to really grab my attention. It wasn't a terrible story, but I wouldn't suggest going out of your way to read it either. |

Emily and the Strangers #2 |
Mar 13, 2013 |
Overall, this story was well executed. It was well written andthe artwork had a distinct style which I really enjoyed. While itwas a fun read, I'd have liked to have seen a little more depth to the story. There just wasn't a whole lot going on and I felt it needed more development or more of a resolution. With that being said, I still thought it was a good read and it's worth picking up. |

This comic was a perfect example of using art to really tell the story. The dialogue was great too, though. I strongly recomend picking this one up, and I definately plan to go pick up the previous issues so I can get the rest of the story! |

Orchid #12 |

While I loved the art, I found the rest of the storytelling to be a little bit weak. The dialogue seemed awkward and clunky in most places and the fact that it felt so unrealistic completely pulled me out of the story. I found it really distracting and it made it hard for me to connect with the characters. I also wasnt very impressed by the ending. Without giving too much away, I can say that every thing seemed a little bit too neat and tidy. There was no room for interpretation and nothing was left to the imagination. Everything was wrapped up in a nice, neat bow. Overall, I liked the story and I thought the art was great, but I was disappointed in the way Morello spoon fed the information to the reader and pandered to the audience with an ending that was too conveniently happy. |
