Sep 5, 2018 |
If youre a fan of post-apocalyptic sci-fi, or just a good read, this issue is a must read. It hits on all aspects, and while not as colourful as some books, more colour would take away from the atmosphere. This creative team is worth checking out. Eclipse #10 is 4.5 stars out of 5. |

Ascender #1 |
Mar 13, 2019 |
Ascender #1 is a great book. While knowledge of Descender will give you some background to the story. However, its not necessary to enjoy this book. I enjoyed how the book itself was structured, as the expository panels have little to no writing. This let the art and the imagination of the reader do the work to bring it to life. If youre looking for a new series to pick up, or are a fan of Descender, this book is a great pick up! |

This mini-series has a good start, and while it opens with a fight, the rest of the issue is setting the stage and fleshing out this new world. The art and story are engaging, but its the colour work that really shines in this book. 4 out of 5 stars. |

Mother Panic #4 |
Jun 29, 2018 |
Overall this was a really good book. As it is aimed at mature readers it does have a darker tone and explores darker themes than a typical DC book. It is well paced, and the art does set a good tone and support the story well. Its also accessible. I had no trouble following and keeping up with the story, even though this issue is the fourth book in the current arc. |

Scooby Doo Where Are You? #92 |
Apr 11, 2018 |
Overall, this was a fun issue of Scooby Doo. I found the three stories to be well paced, and though each of the mysteries is predictable, the attention to the presentation of the Mystery Inc. gang as they work their way through them makes for a well paced and surprisingly fun issue. This issue is clearly designed to keep readers engaged beginning to end, and when it ends leaves you wanting for more. |

Super Sons (2017) #15 |
Apr 18, 2018 |
This was a pretty good book overall. As mentioned above it is the first book in a new story arc, which makes it an accessible read to someone that doesnt usually follow this series, and because of this there is a lot of exposition. One of the nice things that Peter J. Tomasi does is interspersing the exposition with character development, humour, and one good action scene. The cliff-hanger leaves us really wondering what will happen next, and really raises the stakes for the next issue. This book is a fairly easy read, and quite enjoyable. Its not a challenging story or ground-breaking, but being a book focused on the friendship of Superboy and Robin, it doesnt need to be. |

Batwoman (2017) #16 |
Jun 21, 2018 |
The pacing was great, and the art was consistent and did its part to aid in telling the story. It is clear from the ending that Kate Kane's days as Batwoman may be numbered, but this adds to the issue and lends it a greater feeling of importance. |

For a debut issue this book does a great job introducing its characters and their environment. It is an oversized issue, and the additional pages are well utilized and needed. The Dreaming (2018) #5 |
Jan 9, 2019 |
Overall this is a great read. New readers will be a little lost at first. However, with how the issue is paced and how well the art, colour, and lettering all blend together, its very easy to get into. The characters, in particular Dora and Lucien, are engaging and appear to be the heart of the issue. Artistically the book embodies the Dreaming very well, with surreal imagery, and wasted colour due to the declining nature of the world. The Vertigo line from DC does a great job of staying true to the feel of the original series in both look and overall feel. |
