Damage (2018) #1

Dec 31, 2017

"Damage" has potential but maybe in the form of hurting DC's monthly sales. We'll just have to wait and see what the story brings to the table in the next issue.

Humphries takeovers with an intriguing detective story with a villain who's lack of history gives him an opportunity to really soar!

This is a great series that stays true to its roots! I can't wait to discover more about the truth behind who the Judge could be.

Nightwing (2016) #40

This issue was sort of disappointing, but I also see it as necessary. I'm definitely ready for the conclusion of this storyline.

Nightwing (2016) #41

Mar 22, 2018

I thought this was a great issue to resolve the Judge's storyline and to prepare Nightwing to deal with some more human emotions. Which, let's be honest, we all love Dick when he's working out or going on dates. I mean he is DC's classic, teenage heartthrob.

Nightwing (2016) #42

Apr 4, 2018

I'm not going to stop reading because of what has already been done and the potential I think is still there. However, I really wish they would steer away from these filler issues unless there is something that really contributes to the characters overall.

Runaways (2017) #3

Dec 18, 2017

This is a really important book starring characters that have been beloved since their inception. It plays on the ideal that we all dreamed of at one point or another, living life on our own terms without parents. What will happen to the Runaways remains a mystery, but if the past is any indicator, it won't be pleasant.

Change is coming. It's safe to guess that once this story arc ends will have our troubled teens back together again. But at what cost? Whatever it is, they'll definitely need each other more than ever.

Molly's grandmother isn't who she seems to be. Can the runaways survive an evil Granny? With the art continuing to impress, this is a promising step into a new arc.

I'll keep reading but I hope something original starts happening. These are amazing characters who deserve to do something fantastic. I really want a little more connection with the story and the art like we saw in some past issues.

Runaways (2017) #8

Apr 9, 2018

9's across the board for this one! I thought it was a great issue that served its purpose of driving the story forward. Its balance between multiple characters makes for a strong family dynamic amid some of Marvel's favorite teens.

Jean Grey #10

Dec 15, 2017

Jean Grey fanboys and fangirls sobbed with joy when Phoenix: Resurrection was announced. It's likely that we were all reading this series already so we could infer that Jean's solo series would tie into the return of her adult counterpart. This issue leaves us with so many questions as to how these events will play into the Return of Jean Grey. But we know that with the Phoenix, death is just another stepping stone towards something grander and she will rise again.

Exit Stage Left: The Snagglepuss Chronicles #1

Jan 9, 2018

Snagglepuss is a hopeful miniseries depicting diverse characters in a time when diversity was targeted. It will probably not be a hit with mainstream fans but has the potential to develop a cult following if executed correctly.
