This series could have used more of that emotion earlier in its run, but better late than never. Read Full Review
Jean Grey fanboys and fangirls sobbed with joy when Phoenix: Resurrection was announced. It's likely that we were all reading this series already so we could infer that Jean's solo series would tie into the return of her adult counterpart. This issue leaves us with so many questions as to how these events will play into the Return of Jean Grey. But we know that with the Phoenix, death is just another stepping stone towards something grander and she will rise again. Read Full Review
While Hopeless does some solid work as he wraps up young Jean's fight against the Phoenix, his narrative can't help but buckle a bit with so many guest characters, as he's forced to burn page after necessary page accounting for characters that don't add much to this particular issue. Very epic issue, lots of great action with character work supporting it all. Great last page, I've loved this series from the start (a stealth Marvel Team-up book starring Jean Grey) and love it still. Hopeless had better keep writing at Marvel when this finishes or I'll be bummed.
Tirando algumas falas da fênix que não parecem sair da boca de uma deusa cósmica, essa edição foi espetacular
Teen Jean versus the Phoenix is quite the epic battle, and it drives to an unexpectedly grim conclusion. The script is extremely strong and it navigates a tricky shift in tone perfectly. Alberto Alburquerque's art is strongly reminiscent of Mark Bagley's work in a positive way, but his faces veer a little into cartoony bathos when it's time to illustrate dismay and shock. All in all it's a surprising, satisfying high note for this title to build to, and we're apparently supposed to wait till after Phoenix: Resurrection to explore the aftermath.
