All the important players for the Phoenix are here as Dennis Hopeless goes into the next part of this story arc with guns blazing. Read Full Review
This is the best Jean Grey we've ever seen, hands down. Never before has she been so familiar and appealing. Read Full Review
Jean Grey #9 gives us a return to a character's greatness (and not the titular lead), and a fun, emotionally complex build to what may be the conclusion to the series but certainly the conclusion to this arc. If nothing else, for those who've been missing the “real” Emma Frost, this is a great issue to pick up. Read Full Review
Though JEAN GREY #9 isn't the best part of the series, it's consistently entertaining and sets up an epic confrontation. Read Full Review
A rushed attempt to have witty dialogue and a wrap-up to a character's story only creates a frustrating couple of issues leading to the inevitable finale. I only hope it gets cleaned up properly before riding off into the sunset" Read Full Review
Ghost Jean's scheming puts Teen Jean in serious trouble, events bend toward a climax, and Dennis Hopeless shows off some stellar byplay between Emma and Ghost Jean. Victor Ibáñez contributes some superb action art (and lots of good fire, which is thematically important) but flubs a few faces. This was an awfully good issue - top-quality presentation of a straightforward premise - but I was hoping for even more awesomeness. I have so many questions about the shard of Phoenix Force in Emma Frost. Was it responsible, maybe, for her recent villainy? But I've gotta remind myself that this is Jean Grey's comic, not Emma's - no matter how well Mr. Hopeless writes them both.
