All-New Venom (2024) #6
May 7, 2025 |
This is a truly bizarre comic book for so many reasons. Only an “All-New Mary Jane Watson” with her history and memories wiped clean would ever consider linking with Venom. Plus, I suffered an overdose of Paul in this issue. Not for the faint-hearted! |

All-New Venom (2024) #7
Jun 4, 2025 |
Well, this was a lot more enjoyable than the last couple of issues, and that surprised me. My score has actually gone up since I talked about it with Weird Science Jim for his Marvel Podcast. The conversation between Mary Jane and Flash in Central Park was nicely done, especially when MJ kept switching between herself and Venom. Dylan's banter with “Top Knot” Paul made me smile and the fight between Venom and Anti-Venom had real stakes. |

Daredevil (2023) #21
May 14, 2025 |
Daredevil #21 is a great-looking comic book. The creative team makes impressive and inventive use of Matt Murdock's enhanced senses as he fights his weird fungus infection and tracks down the source of the mushroom madness. We still don't know who is behind it all or what their endgame is, but I'm enjoying the mystery. |

Daredevil: Cold Day In Hell (2025) #2
May 28, 2025 |
Even better than issue #1, Daredevil: Cold Day in Hell #2 is a brilliant piece of comic book storytelling. The story is exciting and moving as we see Matt swinging back into action above his beloved Hell's Kitchen. This is aided by the return of a couple of beloved characters. Matt is living in the moment because he knows his time is limited and that gives a thrilling and almost almost frantic pace to the issue. The art and coloring are a true feast for the eyes making it worth the higher asking price. Probably Marvel's best current book! |

Fantastic Four (2022) #31

There are some good ideas in here, but it's difficult to get beyond the flawed premise of Ben Grimm being so reckless and selfish. Is this how he would really act if he's being written in character? Surely he would never risk his family or friends' lives in this way. |

Godzilla Vs. (2025): Hulk #1
Apr 22, 2025 |
I had a gamma-radiated blast with this comic! It goes for all-out kaiju & Hulk action as well as some laugh-out-loud moments in the narrative. It's clear that writer Gerry Duggan was having a great time writing this issue. This is complemented by the two artists who deliver some truly explosive kaiju action scenes. If you have ever wanted to see not one but TWO Mechagodzillas flying into action against the King of Monsters, this is the comic for you. |

Moon Knight: Fist of Khonshu (2024) #8
May 22, 2025 |
Moon Knight: Fist of Khonshu #8 is an almost perfect comic book and one of the best single issues I've read this year. Every member of this creative team should be appauded for the obvious craft and love they have put into this comic. It gave me a wonderful reading experience and reminded me why I love this medium so much. |
