Finn and Jake find themselves without a quest and a little too much free time what better place to look for a new adventure than the "Adventurer's Posting Board"?! Only the adventure they grab might be more complicated than they first imagined...this might be the most complicated adventure they've ever been on!

Word Of The Nerd - Ani Gonzalez Jan 9, 2014

This new story in the Adventure Time franchise is about things being different from what they appear to be. It looks like this is going to be a longer story-arc. Which is great because adventures are hard to finish so quickly. Read Full Review

Comic Bastards - Kimberly Gibson Jan 8, 2014

Maybe I am a bit biased but what the hell; I loved every bit of this comic. This issue was lighthearted and humorous. Finn and Jake were just as optimistic as always and having BMO in this series is just an added plus. I loved the illustration style by Wook Jin Clark, it is a little different from other Adventure Time comics but doesn't fall short. So, you go Glen Coco. I have read other spins off of Adventure Time such as Candy Capers and Marceline and The Scream Queens which I really enjoyed; so Flip Side does have a lot to live up to but I am really excited for how the series pans out. Newsarama - Pierce Lydon Jan 8, 2014

Boom! is continuing to pump out quality Adventure Time work and The Flip Side is no exception. Coover and Tobin are clearly familiar enough with the property to what works and what doesn't. They're packing in so many jokes that this issue will beg a second read. They have the benefit of being coupled with an artist with a talent for visual gags in Wook Jin Clark, as well. This a definitely must read. So Adventure Time fans who have plenty of time, now you know the way. Read Full Review

    All-Comic - Tyler Goulet Jan 6, 2014

For a #1 issue, this was a great start. Tobin, Coover and Clark have set the bar high and the twist at the end is fantastic. BOOM! Studios has never disappointed with their Adventure Time books and consistently have great creators putting their touches on the cast and land of Ooo. If you like Adventure Time, or even if you havent tried it yet, you cant go wrong with this issue. Read Full Review

Major Spoilers - Elijah Williams Jan 14, 2014

While everything in this issue is great, there is just not enough of the overall story here to be worth four whole dollars. Im sure it will read great when it is collected in a trade paper back, but this just feels like the writers are teasing us. However, if you are fine with shelling out four dollars for a somewhat unfulfilling chunk of a top quality story, this is one of the finest chunks currently on the stands. Read Full Review

Comic Book Resources - Jennifer Cheng Jan 10, 2014

Despite these verbal and visual strengths, "Adventure Time: The Flip Side" #1 feels a little too episodic and unhurried in pacing, since the yet-to-be-revealed central plot device was played up as more than just a vehicle for character interactions. That said, it's a good debut in that it's a fun read, and it succeeds in creating curiosity about what's next. Read Full Review

Flip Geeks - Ryan Villanueva Jan 14, 2014

Adventure Time: Flip Side issue 1 is well written and the twist to its story makes you look forward to what happens next in the series. For long time fans, I'm sure that they would love this title as well as this is a new adventure added to probably a number of adventures that Jake and Finn had. For long time fans and new readers Adventure Time: Flip Side # 1 is a nice addition to your pick list if you're trying to look for fresh new titles to read. Read Full Review
