Detective Kate Lockley is getting pulled further into Angel's supernatural world, but may have a connection to his violent past that neither of ever expected! Meanwhile, Fred taps into a dangerous new magic...and that may just be part of Wolfram & Hart's master plan.
This is a bold step for this series and I am excited to see where it goes next. Angel & Spike has been able to take what made the TV show so great and modernize it without losing any of the core essence. It's moody and eerie with a pinch of humor. In short, it's fun and well worth checking out. Read Full Review

All in all it's clear that Zac Thompson is the right person to carry this series on. His first issue seamlessly carries on the threads and stories which Hill introduced, while making his own clear mark on Angel's story. It's clear the reverence he has for everything which has already occurred, and it's an exciting time to be an Angel fan. The drastic change in artist may take a bit of getting used to. Love this new direction.
Man, I do not like Zac Thompson's voice for pretty much every single character. I think this issue is sort of a mess and while I like Oz on TV, I have hardly any hopes for him here. I am so disappointed. I know this series ends in another 2 issues, but I'm sure it'll be back, and I'm just hoping it'll be with someone other than Zac Thompson. I really wanted to like this.
