Following Memetic and Cognetic, Eugenic is the last installment of Tynion and Donovans Apocalyptic trilogy. With the first issue giving background and rising action, the second provides the climax where truths are revealed to both the characters and readers. Even as a cautionary tale about the dangers of unchecked genetic tampering, the importance of diversity and identity, and the very real capacity of the few (or even an individual) to impose their will upon the world, Eugenic thankfully doesnt beat the reader over the head with its values. Instead, it depicts a dystopian future in which these scenarios have played out to their most tragic conclusions in a way that encourages contemplation of these topics. This isn't a comic in the traditional sense where we follow a few characters along the way in a story. Instead we're being presented pieces of a puzzle each looking at the ramifications of a decision and the philosophy about them. This is a parable in comic form and it's all the more fascinating for it. Read Full Review
There's all kinds of creepy little things revealed about the Numans as well that you will not want to miss out on. Again, this story is creepy because the root of it is something that could realistically happen if someone meddled with genetics enough. There aren't quite as many twists this issue as the last, but the plot development is pretty insane because it all links up even 100 years later. Read Full Review

It was an interesting choice to jump ahead 200 years in the future. I can understand the reasoning though, the last issue was more of a preface, and here's where the story really lives.
It's funny, the ubermensch people call themselves 'Numans', evoking the thought of Gary Numan in me, the emotionally removed electronic artist. A fitting connection.
