While I'm sad this series is marching towards its end, it's making for some of the best comic storytelling ever, and I wouldn't miss any of it for the world. Read Full Review

The penultimate issue of this fantasy horror and there is still all to play for as the demonic Merlin plays his hand and throws everything he's got at Bridgette, Duncan and all those who stand on the side of good. Comic Watch - Dustin Gebel Sep 8, 2022

Once & Future #29 is a strong opening salvo for the end of the series and promises plenty of action and humor for the last installment. Gran and Duncans plan is in motion, theyve been dealt one last betrayal and have to fight a dragon. Its the perfect set-up for a conclusion to this bombastic series. With a narratively satisfying script from Gillen, appropriate epic art from Mora, unequivocally elegant colors from Bonvillain, and finely tuned letters from Dukeshire, its clear that Once & Future is ready to go out on top, as the definitive Arthurian story of a generation. (Or at the very least, the one with the most badass rocket launcher-wielding Grandma.) Read Full Review

You Don't Read Comics - David Harth Sep 16, 2022

Once And Future #29 is an exciting penultimate issue. Gillen does an impressive job of setting up the last chapter while also giving readers some great action. Mora and Bonvillain bring it all to life, and Dukeshires letters capture the voices of everyone wonderfully. Its sad this book is ending, but if the last issue is as good as this one, it will be an ending for the ages. Read Full Review

    Razorfine - Alan Rapp Sep 12, 2022

The penultimate issue of Once and Future offers a pair of great moments heading into the series' conclusion, and that doesn't include Rose surviving the blow from the Green Knight. The first is the tease of what is to come that offers just enough foreshadowing to provide a "holy shit! kind of realization about the moment which will follow. Read Full Review
