Barnstormers #1 is as much an excellent period piece as it is a melodramatic romance. The character work is fantastic and the art is as grounded as it is breathtaking. Read Full Review

Tula Lotay's art feels painted and haunting, and an ongoing sci-fi subplot doesn't seem to fit with the rest of the story yet but only drives home how unpredictable this book is. Brilliant start. Read Full Review

    Capes & Tights - Jared Thomas Jul 2, 2023

Scott Snyder's creative writing is a perfect match for the comic book's theme. The elegant characterization of both the protagonists, John and Helen, is what makes the comic book stand out. Snyder cleverly intertwines their backstory with the plot to create an engaging, character-driven story. The way their common passion for aviation brings them together and how their romance blossoms, all within the constraints of the era, will leave you wanting more. Read Full Review

Art i beautiful but with little facial expressions - 7
    Story telling is a - 8
But the dialog is really bad with the f' bombs and gd' bombs feeling out of place and even taking you out of the story when it is said. there was plenty of room for editing as well, with lots of things could have been said using less words - 3

This is my first Snyder book as I say story good but atrocious dialog so not that impressed with him so far
