By the end of Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season 12: The Reckoning #4, I felt like I was ready to put the book down and say I'm hyped for the new show. This final season was the perfect love letter to fans and this series. To see the way they have grown, fought for each other, fought for a better future. A true coming of age story that challenged what it is like connecting to a world that you're either prepared for, or have to adjust to. The supernatural world is a doozie, but so is the real world, and who couldn't forget every moment where we could relate to their hurdles. Read Full Review

    SciFiPulse - Patrick Hayes Sep 24, 2018

I would have preferred this been a longer series, because the fights are very quick and two characters' conclusions are too rapid. However, Joss got to end this way he wanted and that made me happy. The final battle's conclusion is clever and cool and made me happy. The final page also made me happy. This series made me happy. Best of luck in the future, Slayer. Hope to see you and Scoobies again. I'm really going to miss new adventures of the Slayer and her friends. Read Full Review

I am grateful that these comics provided more of a universe that fundamentally I would always choose to be a part of. And these final 4 issues together round off the seasons before it in a satisfying way. Read Full Review

Bounding Into Comics - Phillip Pratt Sep 17, 2018

Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season 12: The Reckoning is a fine end to an arc. However, I cannot say it was a worthy cap to the long run the franchise has had with Dark Horse Comics. I believe it deserved a better, more coherent sendoff. I suppose it's hard to plan a story amidst corporate maneuverings. If the creators had been given more time to wrap this up, could the book have been better across the board? I believe so. From a life-long Slayer devotee; it's a shame that such a storied and fan-loved book has to end on such a tame note. If Buffy is indeed continued under the Marvel Comics imprint, utilizing the same continuity, perhaps it won't all be for naught. Read Full Review

The end is finally here for Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Season 12, and Joss Whedon's finale manages to pull together all of the threads of the series -- both television and the many comic book continuations -- into an oddly satisfying conclusion. Read Full Review
