Kept prisoner by a monster of her own creation, Emmy is forced to confront the truth about the evil witch of Harrow County and the power she wields!
It's rare for a horror comic to be as tender as it is twisted, as beautiful as it is bloody, as sweet as it is sinister. Fabulous in every sense. Read Full Review
Creepy, horrific, and beautiful. Highest possible recommendation. Read Full Review
Harrow County #4 is a really good comic that does more than enough right to justify a spot on your pull-list. A steady creative team, smart script and compelling art all equal out to quality entertainment that, even with competition in mind, should easily come recommended. Read Full Review
It’s impossible to talk about this issue more without spoiling things but suffice to say it’s a warmer look at Harrow County than we’ve seen, it’s a look at Emmy’s heart and, it’s a hint of what’s to come. You can’t ask for much else. Read Full Review
Bunn also does a great job playing with our expectations about what path Emmy will take as Hester's history is revealed. I'm not sure I agree with how Emmy and her father interact with each other after everything that's happened between them, but aside from that (and the weird ending), this was another great issue. This is an amazing series that I just can’t get enough of. It is written beautifully and illustrated even better. It’s rare to see horror comic books these days in general, but when I see one that’s actually good, I get excited. Harrow County definitely fits into that category, and is certainly a series to keep an eye on. Read Full Review
Harrow County #4 is a stumble in this series' stride but still a worthwhile read. Cullen Bunn expands this small horror comic into new and exciting territory. What fate has in store for Emmy and her neighbors cannot come soon enough. Tyler Crook is as ever on point, his artwork is less awe inspiring as in previous issues, mostly due to the use of multiple interior shots but he remains a master at his craft. Read Full Review
So like I said, this comic is less exciting than the other issues in this series, but still good. I think this is the end of the first chapter of Harrow County, and I am excited for things to pick up in the next installment, scheduled to be released on September 9. Read Full Review
Tyler Crook's art continues to dazzle this issue; the interior scenes especially convey a sense of what the characters are going through and the peek at what's to come is intriguing enough to keep me interested in the next arc. This southern gothic fairy tale had the storybook ending that was to be expected, though shadows continue to lurk and I'm interested to see what's next. Read Full Review
This is a rather short review because there's not much to say and what does happen shouldn't be spoiled. Telling you wouldn't really be interesting either, but just picture a happy ending here and you'll basically be right. I was left curious about the next issue though so we'll see what Bunn and Crook have in store for future issues of Harrow County and hopefully they can stick the landing with the next arc.
