But the bottom line is that although it was unclear at times, this comic was fun, I read it more than once, and Delgado is a talented artist. For those reasons, I recommend picking up this comic. It is an ambitious project and I am interested to see where it goes.

I had a lot of fun reading this issue, and Im very glad I continued with this series. You dont need to have read the first issue to enjoy and understand the second book, though it does add to the story. Age of Reptiles: Ancient Egyptians #2 comes out July 1, and I highly recommend giving it a read.

I didnt enjoy this issue as much as I enjoyed the other series; I prefer the light-hearted and humorous quips of Elsa as opposed to the serious atmosphere of Ultron vs Zombies, but we will see where this goes. Im somewhat interested.

This series is very, very different from Marvel Zombies. This is a more epic and serious story, and I'm wondering how each title will be affected by one another. I prefer the other series, but that's not to say this one is without its merits. It is a more complex story, more plot-driven than character-driven. The art lacks a sort of signature style, but nonetheless, it showcases Pugh's talent. I think this series could be more interesting; I was too focused on understanding who these characters are and where they come from to be attached to them or overly invested in the story. In the end, I found it to be an okay read, but not one I am overly excited for.

With the series steadily improving, I will just go ahead and say itI am excited to see where this goes and how it ends, especially with that cliff-hanger.

Overall, the series improved over time, even if the finale was a little anti-climactic. It is always fascinating to see a series grow as the creative team finds its groove. The series was alright, maybe even good in some parts, but I wasn't blown away. It was mostly average. As I've been saying in each review, I still recommend Marvel Zombies over this series if you had to choose between the two, but AOU VS MZ isn't so bad. It's a fairly solid comic that just came up short of its potential.

This far-fetched story is ridiculous in the best way possible. It is gripping and I could not consume this story fast enough. AVP is quite the page-turner because this whole series is shocking and unexpected. And it's funny. The unthinkable happens, over and over again.

This is a good comic for anyone who likes outstanding artwork coupled with hard-hitting writing. Bloodshot Reborn is a dark tale about a tortured soul following his problematic moral compass fostered by his broken mind. There is plenty of action with a variety of characters and a compelling storyline. It's hard to beat the creative team of Lemire, Suayan, and Baron.

This issue was still good, but not as good as this series has been.

I dont have a whole lot to say about this one because there wasnt a whole lot of new ground covered. Most of this issue was the establishment of the story. I wasnt super excited while I was reading this issue, and Im only looking forward to the next one slightly more.

This issue had its weaknesses regarding the narrative, but I think the strengths comprised a decent book. I look forward to reading the next issue. My review of issue 8 will be up soon.

You'll want to order this stellar series. You can pick up the trade on September 24, which will contain the first 6 issues, or your local comic book shop will most likely be able to order various printings of the individual issues.

The reader wants to fly through the comic to absorb all of Tim's history and discover how the current events play out. The writing was even more exciting and embodied a more creative format than in issue #1, and the artwork, of course, was more than up to snuff. Even the cliff-hanger was just as intense as its predecessor. Dare I say that the second issue was even better than the first?

The trade paperback collecting issues 1-6 is out September 24. Pick it up. Or better yet, order the individual issues from your local comic book shop so you dont have to wait. You wont be disappointed.

Although this issue was not as exciting as previous issues, it was only slightly so. It is still an awesome series.

Some of the action was predictable, but some of the events were not. There were a couple of stunning plot twists, but the pieces fit. The art is wonderful, as always. The pig-like Gnishian race is ugly, and some of the other characters have inspired designs. There is also a rather shocking one-page splash near the end.

Descender returns in November with issue 7, but the first six installments will be available in trade paperback form in September. If you havent been following the series, this is the perfect opportunity to begin. You will not regret reading this, regardless of the emotional turmoil and suffering involved in waiting for each installment. This is easily one of the most consistently awesome books released this year. Every issue brings surprises, and the artwork is magnificent. It will be a difficult wait for issue 7.

Descender is remarkably compelling, exciting, emotional, well-rounded . . . just everything you could want in a comic book. I think there is something for everyone in this series. I cant praise this comic enough, and for that reason, perfect art and perfect writing warrant a perfect score.

You know by now that the art in Descender is fantastic, but the writing in this issue was a little slow for me. Overall, though, still a fairly good comic, and I still have very high hopes for issue 9, to be expected January 13, 2016.

The Evil Dead franchise is all about Ash. However, this comic attempts to mimic Ash on a different character and it just doesnt work. Everything is too stylizedthe artwork, the writing, the story. This arc is just not what an Evil Dead story should be about. There is magic aplenty, but no zombies, very little Ash, and this story is not very funny. This story needs to be taken back to the drawing board. I almost didnt enjoy this book at all, and I have little hope for future instalments in this arc.

The best stories are far from predictable, and Loveness writes an erratic and fun romp through space. This issue ends in a captivating cliffhanger that makes me yearn for the second issue. Luckily, I won't have long to wait.

Kesinger dominates facial expressions. The characters don't need to speak because their faces say it all. The reader also observes more interesting character designs from the other aliens Groot encounters, and Kesinger plays around with colour a bit, which is always fun.

Groot returns on September 2nd with the fourth installment of the series.

Emmy is outcast by society, which is how everyone feels at some point or another; this makes her story relatable. Her inner conflictcan she overcome her emotions?is also something everyone can relate to. This is a story about hopelessness and growing up and coming to terms with who you are. Harrow County is a fascinating read about the human condition, supplemented by the supernatural.

So like I said, this comic is less exciting than the other issues in this series, but still good. I think this is the end of the first chapter of Harrow County, and I am excited for things to pick up in the next installment, scheduled to be released on September 9.

What drives me to read this series is the hope that it will return to the power inherent in the first few issues. It started out so strong and I hope the team will return to that strength. This wasn't a bad issue, but it wasn't as good as previous chapters.

Overall, this comic is very intriguing from the characterization, to the dialogue, to the various conflicts that arise, to the colours that are used. The art and writing are top-notch, and I can feel this story returning to its horror roots. I wouldn't say this issue was scary, but it was definitely a horror comic, and I don't rule out the possibility of future issues being scary.

I felt like this issue was really anticipating the next issue, which I am very excited for, so this issue must have done a good job hyping it. The cover reveal for issue 8 on the last page really gives the reader a sense of what is to come.

I really like Harrow County because it feels like a story and not just a gimmick. I feel like theres still so much to be done with this series, but Bunn and Crook are taking it slow and teasing readers. Even though I did find this issue to be less compelling emotionally, there were some surprising bits, and the creators have established a very solid foundation with this first arc, which means I am cautiously optimistic for the next arc.

If you love to chuckle and you love strong female characters who are more than capable of kicking some zombie butts, then this comic is for you.

Marvel Zombies is an amusing adventure comic that is funny and can be somewhat touching. Its just a very enjoyable book. The Marvel Universe references are kept to a minimum, which is nice; its a more contained story than some of the other Secret Wars titles. I enjoyed the first two installments of this series very much.

This particular issue did feature some gratuitous adventure, but theres nothing wrong with a little action, because, hey, its fun. The second half of the comic got down to business, thougha nice balance of fun and devastation. This comic is great, but not yet excellent. I am waiting to see what surprises the finale brings. I have high hopes for this series.

Negative Space #1 begins the telling of an important, heavy story. You will find it on shelves July 8, and I highly recommend picking it up.

Its going to be a long wait for the third instalment, coming out January 27. Im greatly looking forward to it.

Unless you've read the previous Secret Wars titles and/or the last Old Man Logan series, you're going to be insufferably confused. Don't waste your money if you know very little about the Marvel universe, especially about the Secret Wars or Wolverine's recent storyline. HOWEVER, if you DO know a thing or two about current events in the multiverse " wait, that was destroyed, wasn't it? You know what I mean " then maybe you will understand all the references and these characters will all be familiar faces. Maybe you'll love this comic. All I know is I sure didn't.

The series as a whole so far has been uneven, and Ill go so far as saying I enjoyed issue one as much as I enjoyed the whole original series, but this needs to pick up. If we wanted to know about all the other domains in Battleworld wed be picking up those series (Im looking at you Age Of Apocalypse, Armor Wars, Marvel Zombies and Age of Ultron VS Marvel Zombies). As it stands, were as lost as Logan.

Take a look at the cover, and you know what you're gonna get with this book"Logan is in Battleworld fightin' lots of zombies. I kind of liked knowing what I was in for just by looking at the cover.

This comic does not raise questions like the first issue of a series should. Instead of building a world, the reader is plunged into an already-existing world. It doesn't raise questions; the questions have already been raised and the reader has to know what's going on already. It's just confusing. I'll give it another shot, however, and hope I am less baffled after reading issue #2. I will pass this comic because I am buying the second issue.

Omega Men #3 comes out August 5; it could still go either wayeither the third times the charm, or three strikes and this series is out. Ill give it one last opportunity to clear my befuddled mind.

So in sum, this issue was more interesting, but equally as confusing as previous issues. I'm honestly not sure why I have been continuing with this series if I don't understand a single bit of it. I think it's time to cut my losses and call it quits with this comic. It's just not reader-friendly if you're new to the series.

Robin: Son of Batman is a great compliment to Tomasi and Gleason's Batman and Robin, but it also works remarkably well as a standalone. New readers have enough to go on to understand what happened in Robin's past. This book will be enjoyed by those familiar with Damian's story, and also by those who are unfamiliar with it. There is plenty of action and an exciting external struggle, as well as a great inner conflict. Robin grapples with the question, does your past define who you are today?

This comic boasts interesting concepts, from the story, to the character development, to the art and colours. I just wish the story would have been told in sequence, so I could have enjoyed it rather than wonder what the heck was going on. I anticipate the next issue with some trepidation; I hope #3 will retain some of the elements established so far, and drop others. The characterization is good, along with the concept for this series, and this issue had phenomenal artwork, but having a more straightforward plot would have made this issue much more enjoyable.

The final word is this: I didnt find this issue super enthralling, but this might have been due to the disappointment of my expectations established by the seriess title. I just dont get why Batman is emphasized if the story is about Damian. In addition, as mentioned, I do not have an extremely expansive knowledge base of the DC Universe to draw upon, which almost certainly detracted from the experience. The only way for you to determine the quality of this series is to read it yourself. Issue 4 came out September 16, and that review will be up very shortly.

All in all, this issue definitely delivers more of what I'm looking for from this series. It does elicit a somewhat average score, but there's no doubt in my mind that this issue was better than its predecessors. If the team keeps this up, the series will shine.

This issue was fantastic overall, but it seriously irks me when problems are raised but not resolved, which has been a recurring problem with this series. That hurt this issues score, but on its own, I really enjoyed this book. You would have to read the other issues to feel the full impact of this issue, though. It had some problems, but all in all, a pretty great issue.

It's not a bad story so far, but I do enjoy the art very much. I don't feel for these characters as much as I do for other series; I am interested but not invested. But I have faith that these characters will grow on me as the series continues. Moreover, I have a feeling the plot must be nurtured for a while to get really interesting. The more I think about it, the more I am looking forward to this comic reaching its denouement.

The hook in this series is the mystery " I want to keep reading just to answer questions and satisfy curiosity, not because I'm terribly interested in the story or care about the characters a great deal. However, I'm not giving up hope yet. I am invested enough to keep reading and hope I become more attached to the characters and the story.

Overall, I feel like the story is coming together. It's not that I exactly care for the characters, as some of them can really seem like scumbags sometimes, but I have a better understanding of them and find them more interesting. I wish some things would be explained throughout the series, though, instead of merely raising new questions in every issue and never answering them. I am wondering what everything means and how it all ties together, which can be seen as a positive or negative. This issue was more interesting and I felt more compelled to read it. I hope every issue continues to improve, as has been the case so far.

Unlike the dark humour of Archie vs Predator, and dissimilar to the more gruesome horror of Afterlife with Archie, this series strives to be creepy, or, perhaps more aptly, chilling. The writing and the art complement each other perfectly, and although I found this story a little tedious to read at times, I'm going to attribute it to the fact that Aguirre-Sacasa and Hack are still working out the rhythm of a new series. It takes time to perfect things. However, the irregular publishing schedule with long periods between publications make it harder to properly anticipate this series with much excitement. However, Aguirre-Sacasa and Hack certainly deliver a dark and moody atmosphere, and Archie Comics earns bonus points for continuing to venture into new territory.

The majority of this comic is about Madam Satan . . . which is more appealing, to me, at least, because I do not care as much for high school drama as I do for pure horror. This issue was better than the first, but it makes me worried for the next issue. I am afraid it will return to petty quarrels instead of focusing on the dark and supernatural. This issue, however, was pretty good.

This series has found its groove. I found the first issue to be a little rocky, a little uncertain, with improvement arriving in issue #2, and this third issue absolutely piquing my interest.

Everything being said, this comic can be slightly overwhelming. However, considering the average nature of some comics, the fact that a comic can arouse too much emotion is quite a feat, if you ask me. I was actually blindsided by the events that took place in this issue. And although the 70s Sabrina comic at the end is a buzzkill, you can always just skip it. Overall, a great comic.

It's impossible to tell what the future will hold for this comic, but this debut does not make me excited to read future issues. It just feels so much like 1984, which is in a league of its own, making it extremely difficult for The Tomorrows to succeed such a classic. If you're looking for a compelling tale about overcoming the challenges of a dystopian future, I recommend picking up 1984 over The Tomorrows.

I wasnt blown away, but its not a bad read. Like the editorial note says, DC is trying to make their comics more appealing to a wider audience, which is a respectable endeavour. And like I said, Im interested to see where this goes now that everything has been established.
