Weekly Comic Book Review - A. Badar May 17, 2008

On the aesthetic side, Adam Kubert's artistic style is felt. Some panels are done very well while others look like unfinished sketches. In a strange way, it adds that Kubert flavor we have all gotten used to for better or worse. Facial expressions on the characters faces are usually spot on and even comical in some situations. The action moves smoothly and in conjunction with the story, which I cannot say for many other comics. Not a single panel feels wasted, and in my opinion, that says a lot about an artist. Comics Bulletin - Chris Murman May 12, 2008

Clark not only helped save the world yet again, but he was shown to be the father figure he should have been written as instead of the absentee superhero in the recent movie. I actually want to see him and Lois adopt now, although it probably wouldn't feel the same if it wasn't Lor-Zod. I'm going to bask in the glory of this story arc for some time, I can't even touch another Superman comic right now because it would cheapen the moment I had after closing the cover on the first read. It's doubtful we will see a creative team like this ever again, so be sure and reserve your hardcover of this when it comes out. I know I already have. Read Full Review

Overall, I'd call this long awaited Annual an entertaining read if not a riveting one, though I'd hesitate before saying it's actually worth the wait. I can think of few series other than maybe Planetary or All Star Superman that could realistically survive this sort of delay. Read Full Review

The Weekly Crisis - Kirk Warren May 7, 2008

It's not a bad issue, but not worth the huge delay either. Add an indecisive conclusion and it's really only worth picking up if you absolutely must read how this storyline finishes. Maybe it'll read better in trade or for people less jaded over delays. Read Full Review
