If you had told me last year that a new ANIMAL MAN series would be this level of creepy, I would have laughed you out of the comic store. Travel Foreman. What the hell can I even say about the art from Travel Foreman? The man is absolute genius with a pencil. The art is constantly moving and I don’t mean with action. Each form that Foreman draws seems to vibrate with a living energy. Part of it is how fluid the art is, part of it is Foreman’s panel placement and part is how big the sandbox is that Foreman has to play in. Lemire’s story is so well crafted that it leaves a real open ended arena for the art. Foreman can put anything on the page and it will work to tell the tale. It’s true synergy. Foreman's stark visuals are what give this title such a unique feel. The center splash page features a stunning montage of the origin of the Rot with no shortage of animals, monsters, and torn flesh. More so than any other DC titles, the villains Foreman draws are truly horrific and disturbing. Seeing them in their true form is bad enough, but watching one of the Rot attempt to masquerade as a human has stomach-turning results; he would give Hector Hammond a run for his money for most disgustingly enlarged head. Travel Foreman's artwork continues to straddle a line for me. It's not really clean, but for a horror comic it doesn't have to be. I like it, it fits because the book is primarily a horror title pretending to be a superhero comic book. As it is, it continues to be one of the best of the New 52. Read Full Review

I pretty much gave you my conclusionin the intro but I'll try to be different. Its both the writing andthe art that really sets this comic apart. "Animal Man" continues to be one of the very best titles coming out of DC. All it needs is a loyal audience who can stomach the wide ideas and horrific violence and it is well on its way to becoming a true classic. Each issue of this reintroductory arc has offered at least one massive moment of glorious creativity. Beside those moments, we get the developing characterization of what might be the most interesting complete family in comics right now and a forward journey that can only build to the cosmically epic.
