So what we have here is a sumptuous book that is full of strong female characters whose personal lives are as interesting as Batwoman's adventures. The threat of the Weeping Woman continues to be shown, but to be honest she's just window dressing for all the fantastic character work being done here. Everything from the colors, to the dialogue, to the plot and overall story will keep you guessing and on the edge of your seat. The art compliments the story so well, and will absolutely take your breath away. Each scene in this issue is more beautiful than the next, it's hard to imagine how the creative team will top this issue. Lastly, Bette stands up for herself towards the end of the issue, and I am definitely looking forward to seeing what she does next. Read Full Review

Batwoman stands out amongst the rest of DC's New 52 from not only a quality perspective, but from the way in which it establishes its sense of self. While some (not all, but some…most even) of DC's new series are completely engrossed in being part of a widespread relaunch, this book exudes an almost reckless sense of pride in establishing itself as it's own story with it's own intention and motivation that exists fully outside the realm of the DC marketing machine. I'd imagine a lot of this comes from the fact that the book was formally begun before even Rich Johnston was aware there was going to be a relaunch, but the extent to which the creative team has this book and the characters within it as strong and compelling as they are is more than enough reason to continue reading. J.H. Williams III and W. Haden Blackman have created what could be the most realistic, rounded character out of the 52 titles of the new DCU in Kate Kane. I was already hooked on this book due to the consistently impressive artwork and storytelling, but after seeing Kate in a totally broken, needy state, she may be my new favorite DC character. If you love good storytelling buy this book and take notes because this is how it's done. Read Full Review

Anyway, I enjoyed this issue more than the last two. The art, as always in the best in comics and it's packed with characters you care about. If it would only fix its problems with the action side of things, I'd like it much, much more. In issue #3 you see a Kate Kane whose relationships are under immense strain, some of which may have even broken entirely. If you've enjoyed the previous 2 installments from this series, you're sure to enjoy this one. I wasn't really a fan of the last two issues, but I found myself having a good time here. And did I mention the art is gorgeous? It's really not fair to other artists how high Williams is setting the bar. Read Full Review
