Dastardly and Muttley was a creative series from start to finish that has excelled into something more within the final pages of its series. It is undeniably preaching to Ennis' converted, creating a one-of-a-kind work that is delightfully meta, genuinely funny, and expertly made. What was once a high concept dark comedy with elements slightly inspired by a Hanna-Barbera cartoon has transformed into an amazing subversion of characters that honors the source but still pushes the limit of what licensed work can do. A fun ending to a fun series, this concluding issue ends on a surprisingly downbeat note that manages to imbue the madcap adventures of our titular heroes with a fair amount of unexpected pathos. Mauricet's art maintains the sublime standard of previous issues and Ennis' script, although a little fuddled in places, remains entertaining on the whole. That ending, though, makes the whole series much more memorable than a series based on a decades-old cartoon has any right to be. Read Full Review
Overall, the book and the series as a whole aren't entirely terrible. There are some fun moments in Dastardly and Muttley #6, however, I was expecting a lot more to the end of the story. If you are a fan of these characters, then I say go ahead and check out this issue and the rest of the series. You just might find more joy with the story than I did. Read Full Review
