With both Adam Strange and Hawkman on the run as intergalactic fugitives with bounties on their heads, the march to war between Thanagar and Rann intensifies! In order to stop it, the heroes must secretly try to unravel who-or what-is instigating hostilities while dodging pursuit from all corners of the universe! And if you thought you knew Despero, you were wrong!
An excellent chapter all around, this also features a really funny encounter between a naked Katar Hol and Adam Strange. The art remains firmly family friendly, but Adams observation about where the hair grows on Hawkmans body gives the reader a definite mental image to fill in the blanks. Read Full Review
If I had a complaint, it would only be that the story progresses too little in each installment; this could probably work in a 4 or 5 issue mini-series, with just adding a few pages at the end of each. Death of Hawkman continues to be a so-so kind of story that doesn't offer a lot, but I still find myself enjoying it enough by the time the issue is over. Comic Book Review (8.5/10) “Great”
Death of Hawkman #3 of 6 “Strange Bedfellows”
Writer: Mark Andreyko
Pencillers: Aaron Lopresti/ Rodney Buchemi
Plot: Adam Strange has travelled to Thanagar to gain the help of Katar Hol aka Hawkman to find the terrorists who attacked Rann and murdered Alanna’s father Sardath. Now Rann is mounting an retaliatory offense against Thanagar, while Strange and Hol are racing against the clock to find the true perpetrators. Strange and Hol find out that Despero maybe behind the terrorist attack against Sardath and Rann…
This is probably the best issue in this series thus far, and I like the fact that an old villain is introduced in this issue although his face was teased more
The nutity joke felt very forced.
