    This issue of Detective Comics was a huge pick-me--up from last issue's blatant sexist artwork. Indeed, Dini shows Batman interacting as a gentleman with two powerful women, and none of them offer the hint of being doormats for misogynists, nor do they writhe in scraps of clothing. Delightful.     Detective Comics #824 was a well written and entertaining read. However, the one-shot format is starting to wear thin with me. I hope that Dini starts to build to some sort of multi-issue story arc. At any rate, due to Dini's one-shot format, this is an easy title for new readers to jump on and give it a try.
