We saved the biggest for last: a long-abandoned gene-splicing project created by Dr. Zin has been reactivated, and even the F.E.A.R. agents who brought it back to life can no longer stop it! Who can? How about Buzz Conroy and Frankenstein Jr.!
All in all, I highly recommend this book and this series. If you know the characters in detail, there are wonderful Easter eggs throughout that will satisfy your nostalgia cravings. This is an excellent send off. It is nostalgia filled without being saccharine sweet. It is action packed while staying rated G. It is a love letter to childhood. It is a comic that is kind of out of place in this day and age. Readers of Gotham Academymost likely loved this, and like that title, they will lament its ending. Read Full Review
While Frankenstein Jr. and Buzz may have not appeared to be likely heroes, it is their friendship which proved to be the deciding factor for the victory. But what makes this issue such a joy to read and visually appreciate was the Japanese style battle which strangely fits in naturally to this type of giant robot story. With all of the exaggerated nuances taken from the genre, we can enjoy the narrative on a new level, not only as a touching emotional tale but also as the story of trust and compassion which seem absent from superhero comics in recent times.
