This is a really cerebral story that might read a bit better as a graphic novel down the line. Read Full Review
Jenny Sparks #3 is a fantastic look into the classic Authority question of the usefulness of superheroes, showcasing how these heroes would respond to world events. Read Full Review
Jenny Sparks #3 starts to fizzle out and falls apart when read in context as something more than a superhero punch-up. It tries to say something meaningful but needs another jolt to be profound. But whatever it's doing, it never stops looking good while doing it. Read Full Review
Not always a big fan of Tom King, but this is the first time I really don’t understand where he’s trying to go. It takes way too long to get started, Jenny Spark's character is far too passive, and the Justice League are walking clichés, complete jerks. It feels like I’m reading a Garth Ennis version, but without the humor. That being said, there are still some good ideas (even though the idea of civilians with a mad god in a restaurant feels a lot like a Sandman story).
It's a pity, I love Jenny Spark, one of the best character from The Authority.
