Two words: Blue and Gold. Well, okay, three. Three words, the Blue and the Go...Wait, thats four words. Okay, lets try this. The team of Blue Beetle and Booster Gold are BACK! By Giffen and DeMatteis! Is the universe ready for either of them? Are you?

I have been a fan of JL 3000 from the start and this issue still blew me away.  I figured having Booster and Beetle would be fun and it is hilarious, but how DeMatteis and Giffen make it fit in the book is the best part.  Howard Porter's art is excellent and I can only beg people to start reading if they aren't already.  Believe me, the begging is a selfish gesture...I want this story to continue. The art is beautiful, but I want the focus to be on the leads, not two characters from the past. Read Full Review

Justice League 3000 #12 was fun with lots of good jokes and bringing back a few classic characters. Fans of Blue Beetle and Booster Gold must go and buy this because this shows that these are the characters that we've enjoyed and shows that this is a series worth spending money on. I can't wait to see what other classic or new (probably both) characters that will appear in the next issue of Justice League 3000. Read Full Review

In the end, "Justice League 3000" #12 works better for new readers than existing ones, if only because it primarily ignores the previous issues. Eventually this story will connect a bit more with everything else, but for now, if Giffen, DeMatteis and Porter are trying to lure in new readers, this is a reasonable start. But hopefully the Blue and Gold team will have some other characters to interact with soon. I'm not sure the two bantering with one another non-stop can last for a whole second issue before it turns irritating. Here's hoping that promised roster expansion happens next issue, and quickly. Overall: Taking nothing away from the quality of the story or the artwork, both of which were standard for this series, but I just wasn't into this issue. Maybe it's because I have so little exposure to Blue Beetle and Booster Gold, but I'm at least interested in where they're going. Read Full Review
