Ultimately, New Suicide Squad #8 leaves the reader with more questions than it does answers, and it has already been revealed that this summer will see a major roster shake-up for the Squad. So, while this issue may not be a prime starting point for Ryan's New Suicide Squad, his current run as a whole is highly thrilling and is shaping up to be one of the more fun team-centric DC runs in a while. This issue ends the current Squad's run and they deserved better.  How can such a fun team end on such a downer?  There wasn't much of a story to speak of, the action ended before it started and the team just faded away.  I hope Sean Ryan has something up his sleeve for the next Squad because I was not impressed with this at all.  Give Amanda Waller a Double Whopper and Fries and call me in June. Comic Vine - Gregg Katzman Mar 11, 2015

Everything in me wants to love this comic. I love the premise behind the team, I like the cast of characters, and I most definitely like seeing them get throw into all kinds of chaos. It has the potential to be smart, exciting, and even funny. However, noticeably inconsistent and stiff artwork and a mostly uneventful issue leaves me feeling pretty disappointed. There are times when the comic is obviously trying to offer something more compelling -- an effort I absolutely appreciate -- but it doesn't really deliver and unfortunately, it feels like some of the pages could have been used in better ways. The numerous issues that have plagued the series reach critical mass here, resulting in a flat and needless installment that manages to accomplish next to nothing in 22 pages. Read Full Review

The Latest Pull - Joel Bowers Mar 11, 2015

This book also read really fast which makes me question the pacing of this title. New Suicide Squad is wrapped up for the next two months and when they return, Task Force is coming back with a new team of criminals. Maybe then it can overcome this lull with the series. This series use to be a real guilty pleasure, but now is in the need of a shake up for the better. Read Full Review

The Batman Universe - TBU Contributor Mar 13, 2015

This entry into the Suicide Squad series was unbearable. This is a book that I wouldnt recommend to a mortal enemy. It is sad and unfortunate that such a great cast of characters is being subjected to such horrible writing and art direction. Take it from me comic fans; this is one issue that you definitely want to leave on the rack. Read Full Review

    Batman-News - Joshua McDonald Mar 12, 2015

New Suicide Squad continues to drop in quality. What started off as a promising book, quickly went south in the art department, and the writing and storytelling have since followed suite. I can easily say that I find nothing redeeming in this book, and if I weren't reviewing this title, then I definitely would not be picking it up. I cringe at the fact that I pay to read it each month. And if I didn't read comics digitally, then I would take great pleasure in throwing this book in the trash after writing my review each month because that's what it is" garbage. Read Full Review
