Will Conrad brings the goods this issue. His Midnighter and Apollo reek of confidence and power, while his Engineer is inhuman and scary. The action is perfectly paced. His splash page reintroduction of Zealot has a great old school Wildstorm feel to it. Milligan and Conrad finally find a bit of the magic that defined these characters in the past. It's not back completely, but this issue was certainly a step in the right direction. Read Full Review
This issue made me feel better about the Stormwatch title again. We have since learned that Jim Starlin will be taking over with issue #19 so I hope he can bring on some new readers to the title. In the meantime, I hope Milligan and Conrad's run ends on a high note next month. Read Full Review
And those immense abilities are also what hinders the story. She just barely "misses" Midnighter and Apollo with a death laser, stalls taking out the real threats, and then attacks another character with a non-lethal blow "on purpose." If this is the usual story of the good guy goes bad but the real good guy is somewhere in there forcing pulled punches then this whole story just got a whole lot less interesting. Either way, Apollo and Midnighter's lover-fighting continues to entertain just as this title continues to get better, bit by bit. Read Full Review
