This was SO anti-climatic!!  I was really enjoying things until the ending...  I mean Engineer goes from nearly ruling the world to suddenly blown up?!  This storyline actually felt like it was supposed to get like three more issues but somebody decided to abruptly end it now.  I don't know how long DC knew this was going to be Peter Milligan's final issue on this series(knowing the way DC is though, they probably told Milligan at issue #17...), but yeah, it seemed like Milligan was trying to wrap up his storyline as quickly as humanly possible.  Which was a bit disappointing, because I was really getting into the story here...  Oh well, I WAS enjoying everything before Engineer's sudden "death", from Midnighter, Apollo and Zealot's banter, to Engineer's crazy antics, but that abrupt ending... Overall, it was a decent ending to the run. The book really did become the Midnighter and Apollo show which is not necessarily a good thing, because it's supposed to be a team book. Don't get me wrong, I love the characters, but if you want to focus on them this much, give them their own book. Unfortunately, based on what upcoming writer Jim Starlin has indicated, none of this may matter after next month's story begins. But I guess we'll have to wait and see what that entails. Artist Will Conrad's art matches the bombastic nature of the story. He does a great job with the settings as well as taking the characters through their own personal transformations. The presence of OMAC is almost inconsequential to the actual narrative, but Conrad draws him with a fresh style that almost maybe makes you miss the big lug. Together Milligan and Conrad say goodbye to Stormwatch before the new creative team takes over next issue, and while it wasn't the smoothest of rides, there were definitely a couple fond moments to look back on.
