Haven't read this issue, but will. I agree with your comments. I started reading comics with Claremont's run on the X-Men and the depth of story telling is so much greater than current books and a lot of comic movies are based on story lines from the older story telling style.

It might be interesting to see where this series goes from here, for however much longer it lasts, given its place near the bottom of the sales charts. I half wonder if Jimenez' meta-textual commentary this issue might have been a parting shot. Are BIG changes in the wings for this series? Supergirl Comic Box Commentary - Anj

I still don't know when all this is happening in the current world. In some ways, I am happy this book is moving on. I can't help but be disappointed, especially considering the way it started. This issue was an excellent goodbye to Phil Jimenez's run on this title. I have really enjoyed this book, and though I get why some consider it to be too "talky" and exposition filled, it felt like a return to an older story-telling style that I truly miss. It's nice not to read a book in 3 minutes, with nothing but splash pages and action on every page. Really too bad he's leaving. Hope Perkins can keep it going in a similar manner.

As we come to the end I'm finally able to come up with a written review. I've held off on doing one for this series for two reasons. The first is the seething disappointment I have with Jimenez over how poorly handled this series was. The second because I wanted to get a clear sense of perspective over what all went wrong. Let's start with the writing. Every page is filled with text. Characters dump long exposition into every panel. You would think a life long penciller like Jimenez would no how bad that is. And worse, this isn't Jimenez first writing gig. He's done ongoing series for years and this is par for the course. He hasn't improved and he continues to ramble as the series goes on.
