I didn't like a few things in here. Raven retreating into being scared to love anyone has been done before, and I personally would still kinda like to see them let her and Gar actually have a decent relationship. Cassie seems like she's about to break up with Conner for the good of the team, which I also don't want to see. While the art is great, Beast Boy now more than ever resembles his Teen Titans cartoon self, with the pointed ears and one fang on his lower jaw, a bit of "media creep" I wish would go away. And while I admit to personal bias here, I really can't stand Damian, and am sorry to see him joining the team. Read Full Review

Teen Titans #88 was a solid read. Outside of a few minor complaints that keep this issue from being great, Teen Titans #88 was a very good start to a run. I look forward to see what Krul and Scott have in store for the team especially with Damian joining the team as a member and the Robin of the team. He should definitely bring in a cool dynamic to the team. If you are a Teen Titans fan then I recommend picking this issue up, even if you have not read this title in a while. This is a very new reader friendly issue. As someone who has not picked up this title for a few years I am now excited to pick this title up on a regular basis again. Read Full Review
Overall, this is a fun issue, and a very promising fresh start, but it needs some more punch. I understand DC's desire to flesh out their collection of villains and their preference that writers contribute in that direction, but I think the Titans have been shuffling along enough lately that a familiar evil face or several might have given this book the extra goose it needed to go from "good" to "great." This is a good start, and I'll definitely be back for more, and in that alone, Krul and Scott can claim a victory. Read Full Review

If nothing else, Nicola Scott doesn't disappoint. The book already looks better than it has since the days of Ivan Reis. Scott's work is clean and expressive. The Titans are injected with a newfound sense of energy and vitality. I do miss the slightly darker, grimier tone of Scott's work on Secret Six, but that sort of tone admittedly isn't called for in this book. Teen Titans definitely has great potential for improvement in the coming months. Let's hope the arrival of Daimian is just the kick in the pants this book needs. Read Full Review
