If Kick-Ass and Deadpool had a baby, it would be Bad Ass! The only difference being that Dead End is a villain through and through with no intentions of serving anyone. What makes Dead End so great is his self-aware humor and biting sarcasm- the mark of a true evil genius. Hard to hate and even harder to kill, Dead End is an eloquent psychopath who fights for something better than justice: himself.
You may be surprised to see Bad Ass get such a high rating from me but this is the kind of book that I rate on another scale, how much fun I'm having with it. One of those situations ultimately where Bad Ass may not be for everyone, though for a lot of people they will have fun with Bad Ass. Dead End is a great character and I can't wait to learn more about him. I want to see what happens to Dead End and the other characters involved in Bad Ass. If you're in the mood for relentlessly fun action comic that has a blast with every character trope out there, give Bad Ass #1 a read. You won't regret it. Read Full Review
I rarely expect great art like this from indie comics, but this first issue had some fantastic work. The issue overall is above-average, mostly due to the writing. Again, I loved the artwork. Get it at your local shop or wherever you get digital comics. Read Full Review
If you're looking for a book that will give you a break from all the serious stuff, and instead you just want to have fun and enjoy a quick read, than Bad Ass #1 is the book for you. It's fun, crude, and just down right bad ass. I'm giving Bad Ass #1 a 4/5 Read Full Review
It was pleasantly surprising just how enjoyable this first issue was! The characters were interesting, particularly the protagonist who was quite engaging, and the book was filled with exciting action, sarcastic dialogue, and phenomenal visuals. Bad Ass #1 will catch your attention with its off the wall craziness, but the story itself has a lot of potential. Read Full Review
BAD ASS was a pretty fun read. It really nails the reader over the head with the "Check this out! It's a parody of Deadpool and American comics!" to the point of the reader wanting to pass out, but it's still a very satisfying read. It was a bit more fun than funny, and it was an issue I strangely couldn't put down, even though I had a few problems with it. The color and art are fantastic and while there's something about this book that really bugs me, overall, I really enjoyed it. I recommend trying this issue out for yourself. Read Full Review
Bad Ass is funny, irreverent, actin-packed, and totally lives up to its title. This is a rocking introduction to the character and it will be interesting to see where things go from here. Read Full Review
The story brings to mind elements of Deadpool, Wanted, and even a little Kick Ass yet mangaes to have its own unique qualities. While the character names seem a little simple and on-point, the story moved along at a decent pace and leaves you wanting to read more about this mysterious man in black known as Dead End. The writing is done fairly well with the intelligent and witty quips back and forth between characters and the flashback elements providing a little more depth to the new character. I found the book to read fast and leave you wanting the next issue stat, particularlywith the abrupt end to the first chapter. After the first read Im on board for the next ish, if only to find out just what this maniac in black is all about! Read Full Review
