    SciFiPulse - Ian Cullen Dec 3, 2018

This is a fun read, but when compared to Dynamites very first issue of Barbarella, which I covered months ago. This is a much cleaner story in that it has been toned down, which is not a bad thing given that its a holiday special, which means it needs to be a bit more inclusive. Read Full Review

Comic Crusaders - Kevin Given Dec 10, 2018

It's a different kind of Barbarella story, also a different type of Christmas story. A noir detective tale that should leave the reader enthralled. It's a great tale which has implications that could expose a nasty negotiation and there's more to this murder than meets the eye. Conspiracy, cover-up, and madness ensue. The reader will be surprised when the mystery is solved and it all fits into the whacky world of Barbarella. It's definitely a story unlike any other Barbarella story and the eroticism, though it's there, is actually downplayed this time around. *** (8.2 rating) Read Full Review

But, if you're looking for sexual innuendos with some substance check out some of Dynamite's other mature titles. Read Full Review

I believe that fans of Barbarella or of the European style of sequential storytelling will enjoy the BARBARELLA HOLIDAY SPECIAL. It is true to the tradition and history of the character, and has some satisfying beats in it. If you are looking for a holiday special in the traditional mode" well, let me ask, do you consider Diehard a Christmas movie? If so, this is the holiday special for you. If not, then this is more of a Red Skies issue. The BARBARELLA HOLIDAY SPECIAL has some great ideas, but the execution may fall short for some readers. Read Full Review

    AIPT - Nathan Simmons Dec 3, 2018

Not silly enough to work as a Barbarella issue nor sugary enough to work as a holiday special, this is for completists only. Read Full Review
