A FANTASY CLASSIC RETURNS TO LIFE WITH AN ALL-NEW PREQUEL SERIES!

More than four decades ago, two iconic creators came together to bring to the silver screen an amazing new world of magic and adventure. In their classic animated film Fire and Ice, legendary artist FRANK FRAZETTA and famed director RALPH BAKSHI crafted a unique vision of beauty and danger, of good versus evil, all cast against a hypnotic backdrop of savage prehistoric splendor. Now, at long last, this timeless vision is expanding into comics with the first new story to revisit Frazetta and Bakshi's remarkable realm since 1982!

You Don't Read Comics - Russ Bickerstaff Aug 5, 2023

Willingham and Manco are working with something far more technically accomplished than what Bakshi managed with the original film. Theres great thematic substance to Willinghams script that also seems a great deal denser than what rested at the heart of the 1983 film. If they meet success in the prequel, maybe Willingham and Manco can do something about an adaptation of the movie as well. Read Full Review

This is a solid story with some spectacular artwork that very much syncs with what fans of the film would have seen on the big screens back when it was released in 1983. Hopefully, this issue will be the launch of a new line of comics for Dynamite. Read Full Review

I'm not a huge fan of the film but I am of this book. The film is nostalgic to me as I love Frazetta and saw it as a child but it wasn't great, just cool to see animation that was considered "adult". Here Willingham is able to take the film and expand on it with a prequel tale. All the characters are here with explanations of how they came to be how they were in the film. Never knew I needed backstory on this movie but when it's written and illustrated this well I have to wonder why it hasn't been done before now. Thank God they waited and got someone of the caliber of Willingham to tackle it. Buy this book!

I think it's time for us all to admit that Dynamite Comics is more interested in providing T&A to horny comic geeks than actually delivering an amazing story. My goodness, everywhere you look, side boobs here, crouching tush in a bikini there, not that there's anything wrong with that, praise be for butts and boobies, but put them on a riveting plot please? The art is absolutely fantastic but seems like Ooh Ahh Yeah Baby Dyn-O-Mite! made Willingham & Manco focus more on the nekkid babes than creating a great fantasy comic, or maybe I can't find the story because I'm too busy looking at the nekkid babes. Full graphic NSFW explicit take along with an audio narration of what two bikini babes in a jungle are really talking about can be found he more
