JAMES BOND: HIMEROS #2 is tense, action-packed storytelling. Bond is put to the test with assassins all over the world converging on his witness, and the seeds of doubt about his charges intentions escalate the paranoia factor even higher. The Himeros storyline is moving along nicely but it just hasn't clicked over into that really exciting feeling yet. Barne's script is solid and he's got the voice down for Bond just right while Fuso's artwork is solid Bond material all around. But the storyline itself is still in the building phase and hasn't really delivered something completely clear to engage with. I'm definitely glad that it's not another big world-ending kind of villain here because while that may work for the films that come out very few years in a big cinematic way, the comics are able to deal with lower stakes but critical ideas in a really good way. There's quite a bit of action here, starting with the failed island assault and ending with the assassin Kino catching up to Bond and Sarah and making an attempt on her life. In the encounter, the pair appear evenly matched raising Kino's suspicions and just who is now protecting Sarah. Bond is now on the run with a woman he's unsure if he can trust and with an assassin on his heels, where does he go from here? Read Full Review
