THE SHE-DEVIL WITH A SWORD IS QUEEN OF HYRKANIA! LONG MAY SHE REIGN!
Dragan The Magnificent marches his massive Zamoran army to do battle with Sonja's puny Hyrkanian forces. Any other monarch would retreat in cowardly fear. But Sonja will rely on the lessons she learned at THE COURT OF THE KHITAI, and empty her nephew Kryon's BROTHERS OF MISFORTUNE...
The epic ongoing continues, by MARK RUSSELL (The Flintstones, The Wonder Twins) and MIRKO COLAK (Conan).
Every following issue should look to accomplish what Red Sonja #2 does. Read Full Review
Mirko Colak's art is amazing. There are so many beautifully detailed panels, especially the bridge sequence and the surprise ending. Read Full Review
The second installment puts a potentially big change in the mix for Sonja and her people and I'm definitely intrigued with the story potential there. Read Full Review
Red Sonja #2 is a strong book thanks to the interplay between members of its creative team, deserving its place among the great Red Sonja runs. Humorous and biting but serious enough for the world the characters inhabit, its clear this team understands Sonja. Read Full Review
Come for the sword fights, stay for the acerbic political commentary. This was another solid issue of the new 'Red Sonja' run. Read Full Review
RED SONJA #2 brings everything great about the character. The book continues an engaging, well-paced, and humorous story, backed by excellent artwork. Highly recommend you hop on this new series. Read Full Review
The story moves forward, but with very little action. The visuals are perfect, with Sonja looking the most real she's ever been portrayed. Even the letters add to the tone, with some sensational sounds and scene settings. I enjoyed this issue, but it's almost zero action made it a ho-hum reading experience. Read Full Review
On art, Colak and Kelly continue their strong work from the fist issue. This time around it was a lot of standing around and more establishing shots that were called for and Colak did great with those. The character work, positioning, facial features, could be a little more crisp, but that is a minor gripe in an otherwise fantastic issue. Read Full Review
Another great issue from Mark Russell. If you are wondering whether or not to pick up this series, do it because it is that good! It is funny, interesting, and has a great plot. I am in love with this series.
Another super-strong offering from the new creative team, who are writing a Red Sonja we've never seen before ... she's a mighty warrior, sure, but she's also incredibly cunning and is a master at capitalising on others underestimating her. Fantastic art and lettering, and Sonja's back in the scalemail bikini, which is bound to offend a lot of people.
