Weird Science - Jim Werner May 26, 2018

There's really nothing to criticize in the story/writing department, it's pretty much as perfect as you could ask for a first issue and it gets you sucked into the story straight away.  The art is more subjective and won't appeal to everybody but it shouldn't keep you from enjoying the book.  If you're a Turtles fan, or an action genre comic fan, then, by all means, check it out... It is Excellent!! Read Full Review

You Don't Read Comics - Brandon Masters May 31, 2018

Knowing what happens in advance doesnt ruin the enjoyment of this issue. Its still fast-paced, violent, and surprising as ever. While something just feels missing when compared to the Eastman and Laird books, Images run on the Turtles was pretty decent for what it was at the time. At the very least, this book is worth checking out if you want something different from IDWs current ongoing. Read Full Review

This book is a curiosity that's enjoyable if you're a Turtles fan. It's also enjoyable if you're a bit deranged (I don't judge). And then when you're done, go read the delightful books IDW are currently putting out. This comic will never be canon, but it's worth checking out, if only to see a crazy version from the past. Comic Bastards - Sam King May 23, 2018

Overall, this story is a republishing so that some fans will know it and others won't. The story is definitely more mature in some ways from the currently popular iterations of the characters and story, but it is interesting for sure. Read Full Review

Big Comic Page - Connor Stephens May 22, 2018

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Urban Legends is a fantastically coloured re-release of a mostly forgotten part of Turtles history. And while the first issue may fall flat in terms of storytelling, the familiar Turtle quips and violently fun action provide a well-drawn history lesson for new and existing readers alike about the musclebound appeal of the edgy 90s. this is a little known comic series from the 90's originally published by Image Comics, that i am glad to see finally get reprinted. although i wish it had been kept in it's original B&W form, the 90's style inking lends itself nicely to being colorized.
i am also glad IDW did not use the same colorist that had previously done the TMNT Color Classics a few years back. this colorist actually adds tones, volume and saturation of hues to their coloring.

this comic provides a few things i've been sorely missing from IDW's current ongoing series.
the story itself is action packed and moves very quickly. the story of this series focuses directly on the Turtles, and that's the way i like it!!!
