THE COTTON-TAILED EXQUISITE CORPSES KILLER GETS A SPINOFF ORIGIN STORY.

The sleepy little town of Aurora Springs, NY, has exactly one claim to fame: it’s the birthplace of Rascal Randy. Not the man in the suit — the man has never mattered. He was no one until he put the mascot head on for the first time, until he felt the life leave someone’s body through the thickly furred gloves of the suit.

No, Aurora Springs is the birthplace of Rascal Randy the rabbit, who, once upon a time, was poised to become the greatest animated character this country had ever seen — until greed and tragedy changed his trajectory forever. more

An origin story centered around one of the main book’s killers could have easily gone sideways, but thankfully that’s simply not the case with Rascal Randy. Instead, fans have an up-close look at several compelling characters and insight into one of the most unpredictable and twisted characters in comics. Read Full Review

If you finished Exquisite Corpses Season 1 wanting more from Rascal Randy, this new series is exactly what you had hope for. Tyler Boss expands on the history of the character without taking away some of the mystery in the main series. Boss delivers a creepy, atmospheric story that stands confidently on its own while adding to the lore Exquisite Corpses. Exquisite Corpses: Rascal Randy is one of those rare prequels that doesn’t just justify its existence, it makes an already iconic character even more fascinating. Read Full Review

Exquisite Corpses: Rascal Randy #1 proves the Exquisite Corpses universe has room to grow beyond its central competition of killers. Boss shifts the focus toward mystery and atmosphere, building tension through local legends, buried history, and an increasingly unnerving mascot. Burnett's artwork is a major highlight, delivering scares with precision while maintaining a distinctive visual style that feels both inviting and threatening. The issue also succeeds as a standalone experience, requiring little knowledge of the larger universe while rewarding longtime fans with subtle connections. By the final page, Rascal Randy establishes itself as more than a side story, offering a horror mystery that is eager to carve out its own identity. Read Full Review

Exquisite Corpses: Rascal Randy #1 is an awesome kickoff for the first spinoff tale from the world of Exquisite Corpses. The creative team does an amazing job of making a spinoff, but making it unique as well. The story doesn’t reveal too much, but just enough to bring you back for more. I’m a huge fan of Exquisite Corpses and am beyond stoked that we are getting more of this universe. Even better, this first issue delivers on its promise instead of feeling like a quick cash-in. 'Exquisite Corpses: Rascal Randy' #1 is a worthy, must-read supplement for EC fans. It avoids the typical prequel traps by delivering a strong, standalone thriller rather than a paint-by-numbers origin story. Driven by sharp characterization, stellar pacing, and flawless execution, this is exactly how you build excitement for a spin-off. Read Full Review
