New Story Arc. Your new favorite ongoing begins its second arc. The lovers have met, and the sparks of love are igniting. Asami & MacRaith are fighting their feelings for each other... they're also fighting the warrior cult they've spurned and some new hidden forest enemies. Plus, some looks backward at the choices they made in life that lead them to hell. This series is stabby, shooty, and horny, and you know you need it.
Brown delivers some beautifully detailed and visually engaging art throughout this issue. I love the character designs and how emotionally evocative the visuals continue to be. Read Full Review
Maybe most impressive with the title is how each issue keeps smoothly building on the next. It makes the series feel like sitting at a campfire and listening to a fantastic tale of two amazing warriors battling against the odds. Read Full Review
I found Falling in Love on the Path to Hell #5 to be compelling in every aspect of the story. From Asami's backstory to the little bits of lore we get about MacRaith, it all left you wanting to know more about the characters. Fun issue. The art is solid and the writing is very good. My favorite scene was when Asami discovers MacRaith's drawing of her, his reaction, and her reaction to his reaction. Cute and humorous at the same time. Also very enjoyable was her training session with the blindfold, and him following her around telling her to take the bloody mask off lol. Good stuff. The interactions between the two are a little more interesting than the overall story, but it's still solid.
It's once again just good enough to make me care a little. I think the characters are starting to grow on me.
