Now every violent outlaw wizard, biker cultist, and supernatural warlord between New York City and The World Beneath is hunting him—and they’ll burn the world down to pry the egg from his corpse. A high octane fusion of fantasy and superheroes perfect for fans of Invincible, How To Train Your Dragon and Absolute Batman.

This is a fantastic first issue! Everything about this is done in a fashion that will leave you wanting more, as well as making you go back to read it over and over again. Image is absolutely nailing first issues with the majority of their new titles, and they most certainly can add this to their ever-growing list of successes! It is always heartwarming to witness someone with a love and passion for something take that next step to enter the arena as a creator within that passion and have instant success! You will NOT want to miss out on this first issue of Fireborn or the issues that WILL follow! Read Full Review

Fireborn #1 is an excellent blend of superpowered characters and fantasy elements. It’s full of energy, mystery, and action. It’s been on my pre-order and it probably should be on your list, as well. Read Full Review

You Don't Read Comics - Russ Bickerstaff

    Apr 15, 2026

It’s going to take a while before.Aaron will have the opportunity to feel like anything other than a relatively generic young male protagonist. he’s off on the right foot, though. There’s more than enough that’s appealing about him. And there’s no reason why he can’t make a name for himself in a wave that feels interesting and unique. The script travels a little bit too closely to science fiction and fantasy action tropes to suggest that there’s going to be a whole lot about the protagonist. That’s going to seem particularly new right away. There’s a lot of background that has to be delivered. There’s a lot of action that has to be delivered. Once they get all of that out-of-the-way, he might actually come across us being someone deeply interesting. It’s just going to take time. Read Full Review

    Comic Watch - Jamison Nilsson

At 56 pages, Fireborn #1 is a sizable comic and a long read. Unfortunately, that is a very unbalanced read, as the writing is rather awful with a self-important voice that weakens the overall experience despite the issue’s incredible artwork. Read Full Review

Fireborn #1 is an exciting comic that is definitely a fun read, but that doesn’t mean that it’s actually a great first issue. Image has some amazing fantasy books, and this one definitely has all the right pieces, but this issue isn’t the best showcase of them. I don’t even remember the name of the main character. That’s sort of a problem. The book has cool action scenes and the art is great throughout, but this one is average at best. Read Full Review

If you read something new on a whim , well your either disappointed or it's kinda meh to okay. Firstly the good. Manga style art that literally pops of the pages. It's cool , fast paced and leaves you kinda breathless. Now the bad. If I knew what was going on at the start I lost the room by the end. No offence to Image Comics and the creators of this comic but I absolutely loved it......... outstanding. Now let's go start that issue again and see why lol ........JM

Very surprising comic, with a strong manga influence.
A bit confusing in the beginning with art that is really hard to digest. This comics need time to get used too and I don't mean a few pages but more a few issues (3).
