As this issue of Hornsby & Halo kicked off, it set up The Unbelievables. I was instantly sucked in, wondering what was happening and how it would all be connected. After our main story continued, we then got a setup not only for what’s to come with Rose and Zach, but also how it may all be connected. Thereby getting me excited for the next issue of Hornsby & Halo, and so many other Ghost Machine stories on the horizon. Read Full Review

Hornsby & Halo #0 follows up flawlessly from where the story left off in the last issue. Building some mystery and suspense for where the story will go as the series moves forward. The addition of The Unbelievables angle doesn’t hurt the issue but doesn’t bring much to the table either. Numbering this issue as a #0 is a bit confusing as it is really just a continuation from last issue, but once again this doesn’t hurt the story at least. This continues to be a fun and interesting family comic and is definitely one you should check out at the LCS. Read Full Review

You Don't Read Comics - Russ Bickerstaff

The characters realize the fall story on their origins for the first time. Aside from that, there isn't really a whole lot that fuels genuinely do in this particular issue. That's not a bad thing. Roseanne Zach are coming of age. And any serial that involves that as a central theme is going to involve a lot of repetition. Because as a child, you need to learn the same lessons over and over again in different ways in order to really embrace them. There's a kind of an earthbound realism about that repetition that feels very comforting. Read Full Review

Hornsby and Halo has been a fun read in the Ghost Machine library. Further tightening it up by having this issue serve as kickoff to the Unbelievables cross over event was a savvy way to get more readers onto the title. Read Full Review

    Plot
The Trillion Dollar Kid is the one who begins narrating this installment and introduces new characters to this universe of the Unbelievables and the shows Zach and Rose trying to live a normal life.

Zach visits his parents in prison, where they ask him to dig something up and take it to their lawyer so they can sort everything out. Of course, they treat him very badly.

Rose helps her parents at the soup kitchen, but she continues to avoid taking responsibility for her mistakes and pretends to be perfect, which causes problems for everyone. Her deceitful nature often takes over.

Their pets, Pepper the cat and Tucker the dog, reveal that they are agents of Sydney and have been watching them since they were more

This was a great issue to get caught back up with the series, as well as give more depth and insight into our main characters and their beginnings. Fleshing out the origins of Rose and Zachary was beautifully written with lots of heart. Something that Peter Tomasi excels at.

I really loved the handling of Pepper and Tucker in this issue. I’m glad that they finally revealed to Zachary and Rose that they can speak, and that they, like Sydney, have been watching over them.

I really love how Pepper is written. She is quickly becoming one of my favorite characters in comics, right next to Elsie from the Feral comic series also by Image.

As for this crossover event. I doubt I’ll be picking up the other series of th more
