If you somehow missed out on the first arc of this series, then you really need to rectify that as quickly as possible. Rock Candy Mountain is the cult classic martial arts movie you didn't realise you were missing out on until right now. It's also a book I can't recommend highly enough, so make sure to grab your bindle and get ready to ride the rails when it goes on sale this November. Read Full Review

Rock Candy Mountain is just a fun book. It has been from the beginning. Things got a bit more serious and heavy in issue #5, sure, but it works because now there's an emotional connection. Jackson's not just this super-human kung-fu hobo warrior. He's a real man that adapted to his current life. He's anybody who's ever loved and lost. I've been a fan of Kyle Starks for a while now. He does crazy, wackiness better than anyone else, but I'm glad to see him adding some new elements to his work. Read Full Review

Almost a "Book of the Week" contender, if not for the "oh let's make an object have paranormal powers" trope that Starks is dipping his toe in. Read Full Review
