You think it's hard being a sex criminal? Try being a sex cop for, like, an issue, give or take. ALSO THIS ISSUE: a special sequence guest-colored by a MYSTERY COLORIST whose name rhymes exactly with "ELIZABETH BREITWEISER."
I'm not even going to wrap this shit up in a bow telling you how good this book is as I usually do. Nah, you check my other reviews for that shit. Fraction and Zdarsky are givin' you that art work right here. Take notes. All I'ma tell you to do right the fuck now is take notes. They not playing with y'all no more. This ain't for play-play no more. Bars only. Bars only fangirl/boy". Bars only. Read Full Review
SEX CRIMINALS #17 has some of Matt Fraction's funniest writing, and the artwork of Chip Zdarsky is as on point as ever. The characterization of Kegelface is great, and the story being told from her perspective is a solid change of pace. Read Full Review
As always, the caveat that it's not going to be everyone's cup of tea is in place, and also my warning that it's not for the under-18 set, but Sex Criminals #17 is fascinating, icky, charismatic, lovely, infuriating and flippant in all the right ways, and makes me happy that a book this unconventional has found a publisher and a willing audience. I continue to be impressed with the quality output from Fraction. Well into its fourth arc the stories continue to be captivating and show promise for what's to come. Sex Criminals is never not good, and issue #17 is no exception. However, readers who were looking forward to really hunkering down with the series' main characters may be a bit disappointed. Read Full Review
The story blends action and irreverence with humor. My biggest complaint is that the writers have a tendency to intrude in the narrative just a little too much. WE GET IT! We wouldn't be here otherwise. Read Full Review
What I'm hoping for is an eventual showdown of sorts between Kegelface and her minions and Jon and Suzie. In the meantime, it looks like we're going to have to settle for the invasion of the creepy little sex trolls. I just hope they don't stick around for too long. Read Full Review
Great issue, very funny, no mention of jizz for a change.
Another solid issue of Sex Criminals. This is my favorite comic book coming out right now. It never disappoints.
I didn't love this issue as much as other, but it was a fun side to get and I'm excited to see where this new person will play a role.
I usually love every instalment of this series, but I didn't like this one, with the little sex trolls. Kind of stupid.
