This is a strong debut for a comic that clearly pines to be so much more than just a comic. "Super Dinosaur" may be set as a copyrighted intellectual property perched for bigger and better things or it may simply be what it appears to be: a fun comic book with dinosaurs. If you have a young boy, you should really give this a try. It reminds me of a cartoon as no other comic has in a LONG time. The downside is that there isn't a lot here (besides the pretty art) to hold an adult's attention. Read Full Review
Howard's designs are really fun, especially Super Dinosaur himself. The cool stuff is actually pretty subtle, too " I was halfway through the book before I realized that Super Dinosaur was using his stubby Tyrannosaurus arms to operate the controls for his robot arms. This book really is fun, and it's the sort of thing Image isn't doing anywhere else. That alone makes it worth giving a try. Read Full Review
As a first issue should, this one really lays out the enter world of Derek Dynamo and his relationship to his father and his reptilian best-friend. I'm a little less sure of the family assigned to their base, and the villains themselves, but there's certainly enough here for me to give this one a good long look. Read Full Review
As a debut issue, Super Dinosaur was pretty good. A lot of possibilities were opened up and if the right balance between the different relationships and dinosaurs punching each other is found, this could be another great success for Kirkman, Howard and Image. Read Full Review
While this comic is a boon for parents that want to read a comic, and be able for their kids to enjoy it as well, I am still torn on this comic. So me and my inner child have come to a consensus. In closing Super Dinosaur receives 3.5 Stars, out of 5. Read Full Review
Super Dinosaur aims to be a fun comic book and it is a fun comic book. However, I was hoping for more of a personality from the title characters instead of the kid. Is this a problem? It's way too early to tell. The characters are there, the story is there and this comic introduces them all. It's just a matter of Kirkman getting everything off the ground and moving. Honestly, if you're looking for a madcap action comedy series that looks great and delivers an absurd story with a dinosaur, your money is much better spent on a series like Axe Cop: Bad Guy Earth. At least Axe Cop's story has an excuse for being written like it was done by a six year old. Read Full Review
