Fanlight Zone - Joey DiCarlo

Aug 25, 2026Terminal #2 continues to slowly pull back the curtain on its strange world, revealing more about the supposed heroes while giving Andy Kubert plenty of room to unleash their powers. The characters themselves still feel distant, and the measured pace can make it difficult to fully invest in their problems this early on. Still, the increasingly questionable nature of the team, the mysterious forces pulling the strings, and a bloody superhero clash offer plenty of reasons to stick around. Kubert's action is particularly strong, even if the muted colors keep some of his biggest moments from popping as much as they could. Read Full Review

While reading this issue, I realized why I’ve never been an Andy Kubert fan. There is no emotion in his faces except stress and anger, and that‘s why his old X-Men issues felt so inaccessible to me thirty years ago. The same is true for Terminal. The pages look great from a storytelling and action point of view, but all the characters feel distant and cold.
I’m willing to give Terminal a few more issues, but so far, it’s a lot of 90s posing and fighting, some mystery, but no relatability.+ Like • Comment• Likes (1) -
