Banished from The Marked, Liza is recruited by the government's occult research department, Shadowgate, where she is encouraged to take her magic to the limits and beyond. The Marked must find her before she succeeds in creating an unstoppable army of super-soldiers.
Overall, The Marked #2 is still continuing to become a great story-driven comic with some awesome characters and cool ways to utilize magic outside of its usual high fantasy stereotyping. The modern-day atmosphere keeps it fresh and makes me feel like I could one day walk outside and see someone using glyphs as I walk down the street and just simply be amazed. I would highly recommend this series for anyone who enjoys magic, a solid storyline that can hook you in, science fiction, or a badass cast of women. Read Full Review
The Marked has a cool concept with the whole magical tattoo thing (glyphs, I know they're called glyphs) and a great set up with the secret government paranormal agency, so this looks like it is off to a good start. Read Full Review

Having firmly set-up the heroic side of the story in the first issue, Hine and Haberlin deliver the darker end of the villains in a very engaging second issue. The story could go in so many exciting directions from here. The challenge for the creators is going to lie in keeping it interesting and novel enough that it doesn't feel too derivative without diving so far into the novelty that it feels like a gimmick.
