The Marked may look like cool young influencers, but beneath the designer clothes, their bodies are tattooed with the magical glyphs of an ancient order that secretly protects the world against evil forces. You Don't Read Comics - Russ Bickerstaff Oct 16, 2019

Theres a genuine charm in the gimmick of tattoo-based magic in an art school environment. The Art Institute-Meets-Hogwarts feeling of the series is cute enough. Still, the sense of danger and menace circulating around the edges of the first issue is really going to have to build into something more prominent if the series as a whole is going to be satisfying. Its a very appealing first issue in any case. Read Full Review

Pastrami Nation - Nolan Smith Oct 14, 2019

The Marked is off to a solid start. I enjoyed diving into this new world of magic and legacy, and I can't wait to see what happens next and how Saskia ends up the way she is, as we see at the beginning of the issue. Shadowline/Image Comics didn't live up to the hype with The Marked; they completely surpassed it in my opinion. Make sure to pick up the first issue and get in on the ground floor of what is sure to be an amazing story. Read Full Review

Lyles Movie Files - Jeffrey Lyles Oct 16, 2019

At 48 pages priced the same as a standard issue, this is a can't lose introduction to The Marked. Essentially giving away the second issue for free doesn't even seem like a risky proposition as it's going to be hard for readers to not want to see what happens next issue. This was a strong debut from a book that shows a lot of promise and looks to be another winner for Image. Read Full Review

The Pop Break - Sheena Fisher Oct 16, 2019

The concept behind The Marked is what drew me in, and made me want to read this title. I find it very interesting that a tattoo could be the source of magic. Hine and Haberlin did well to make a cohesive story by throwing in historic events to the mix. I haven't seen a story of this type. The Marked #1 is unique, beautiful, and dark all at the same time. Geek'd Out - Jim Allegro Oct 16, 2019

The back story to this coming-of-age comic will keep readers busy with epic battles, factions of magicians, and sinister cabals. The Marked are an ancient order with a history of battling occult forces that threaten humanity. Their last great struggle was during World War II, when they teamed up with the Mages and other mystical groups to defeat the Lords of Chaos. Upon their defeat, occult Nazi artifacts were allowed to fall into the hands of governments that have an eye on Saskia. In The Marked #1, Saskia's fate is also the fate of humanity. Read Full Review

"The Marked" #1 that might have had more to say if it dwelled on how science and magic are at cross purposes, but it's a fun premiere issue as long as you don't think about it too much. In fact" nope, I'm done. Read Full Review
