Where do we go from here?
It's how this book goes " every time we get comfortable in one status quo, something happens to shake it up. The good thing is that he never shakes it up in a way you would expect. The end of the issue, of course, is as chilling and powerful as we've come to expect. So why not five bullets? Why does an amazing book such as this not get a 100%? Because its not long enough. I want more, I crave more, and if I dont get extra, Im not satisfied. As for the immediate future of the series, I'm excited to see how Carl comes out of this. With the conclusion of this issue, I'm left thinking this could still go either way. He could live… he could die. Given his wound, he could live and be left without a memory, which could make things harder for Rick than if he were to die. Or he could never come to and simply become an anchor for Rick in the issues to come, that could lead to despair in the end. It is clearly an emotional time for our characters, and I can't wait to see where things go from here. Read Full Review
A really good quiet issue that shows Kirkman's characters dealing with the aftermath of the huge zombie battle of last issue and making plans to rebuild their community. The slow burn to the next climax has begun! Read Full Review
Issue #85 is a slow affair, and the general plot doesn't scoot along as rapidly as it tends to do in each new installment of The Walking Dead. But Kirkman still delivers some well-written scenes that fans will enjoy, and the hope is that the series will quickly heat up again as the characters seek their next course of action. Kirkman gives another deep and deliberate read. While this issue is a slow down one, it still delivers an entertaining read that contains laughs, tears and some interesting plot developments. You can't go wrong with this title. Read Full Review
