If you loved ANT-MAN by Spencer, Rosanas, and Boyd, then picking this up is a no-brainer. It's a nice end to the series, before the same creative team takes on ASTONISHING ANT-MAN in October. It has a ton of heart and it's nice to see a Last Days issue just be a one-shot. Read Full Review

Last Days of Ant-Man could easily be overlooked by fans, coming quite late in the Secret Wars event which people are already feeling burnt out on, but if youre a fan of the current Ant-Man series then its required reading. Spencer and Rosanas fill Scott Langs last hurrah with heart, humor and adventure, just like the previous issues. This is not a series that should be slept on. I can't stress that enough. Especially after the success of the movie, this series keeps the momentum going incredibly well. This is a really fun, short Ant-Man story. You don't need to have read any Ant-Man stories previously to understand this one, so that's always good for Marvel newbies. For a really fun story that you don't need to research to understand, this issue is definitely the way to go. Read Full Review

The only real weakness Last Days Of Ant Man possesses is that it is slightly inaccessible to those who haven't been reading the Ant-Man monthly series. Thankfully, new readers will get a chance to see what they've been missing out on in a few months when the series starts over with a new #1 and " if the final page is at all accurate " a new Scott Lang who is somewhat less firmly on the straight-and-narrow path. As always, Scott Lang is the star of this series, and Spencer still does a great job with the character. He uses Mary to talk up Scott's accomplishments as a hero, helping the little guy to appreciate all he's done with his life. We get some great action in Scott's escape from the Slug's yacht, as well as some nicely peppered one-liners. This is just another quality issue of this great series, and Spencer seems more than ready to dive into the relaunch in a few months. Read Full Review

That decision also pays off due in large part to Rosanas art. Rosanas is able to capture age realistically and his clean lines make the whole issue look a bit animated, but realistic at the same time. He has a great handle on both body and facial language, and scenes involving both Scott and the Slug are pretty funny since he's able to render the characters so effectively. His pencils are minimal but effective and you can see his strengths in the choice to not include so many lines. What I didn't see coming is the ending, and although it seemed to have come a bit out of nowhere, the prospects for future stories are rich. Although its sad to see this series go, the creators will be back with an all new series starting in October titled, The Astonishing Ant-Man. The last few pages look as though they may lead into the next series despite the world coming to an end… and because of that I'll be back. Read Full Review

This series started and ends strong, consistently delivering light-hearted but sincere super hero adventures. Spencer, Rosanas, Boyd and Lanham have filled this series with their absolute best work and "Ant-Man: Last Days" #1 is a fine sample of their topnotch comic collaboration.
