While the art continues to impress -- some -- with its intricate character designs, the script sinks to the bottom of the barrel, rolling out a by-the-numbers plot with incredibly cliched dialogue.
The kids playing with the toys will come up with more inventive plots and characterization than this.
I stuck with this series to the bitter end when I should've never read it. It's fine for what it is, I guess, but what it is feels incredibly soulless and by the numbers, in a cynical corporate mashup sort of way.
