Scarlet Spider comes out with a crazy issue, that goes about things the right way in repairing the image of one Ben Reilly. Light on action but heavy on surprises this is a must buy for any long time Scarlet Spider fan or anyone who soured on the character in Clone Conspiracy. Read Full Review
Ben Reilly: The Scarlet Spider #7 offers bizarre and abrupt solutions to some of the series' longstanding problems. Still, it offers a hopeful way forward for this series and its main character. Read Full Review
Peter David is trying hard to make us care about this ersatz Spider-Man, to make him different from the original. I'm not sure this series has long term potential but right now it deserves a little attention. Read Full Review
The art is still great, but the series has taken a severe nosedive from the brilliance of its first five issues. Read Full Review
People giving this a 3 or less need to get their heads checked. This book is great. Never thought I would care about Ben Reilly, but this book has been top notch.
Marlo isn't Marlo; she's Death, and she's stopped by Vegas to lay some heavy ☠☠☠☠ on Ben Reilly. This wild existential ride is a bit of a head-popper, but it's an excellent - and archetypally Peter David - way to rehabilitate an anti-heroic character and give him reasons to do better. Will Sliney's art continues to surprise me positively; I appreciate the extra effort he invested here in making Ben's expressions suitably gob-smacked while chatting with Death.
